
Outreach Program Lifts Thousands
I CAN DO, an acronym for Inspiring Children About Not Dropping Out, offers fifth-grade students a hands-on dance education experience followed by a year-end performance opportunity. The program is a six-month residency where students participate in lessons that include moving, investigating, creating, as well as life skills concepts necessary to prepare for and participate in the execution of a performance.
Students have the opportunity to exhibit their accomplishments before family, friends and the community at a year-end performance. While the performance displays the result and dedication of the students, the preparatory time allows for a forum where they employ core standards and life skills to collaborate with a group to complete a project. The public is welcome to attend the following year-end performances to see the results of this extraordinary program! All shows start at 7:00 pm and are free:
