EXCITING PROMOTIONS AND NEW HIRES ANNOUNCED FOR 2016-17 ROSTER

SALT LAKE CITY – April 22, 2016 – Ballet West Artistic Director, Adam Sklute, announced the 2016-2017 dancer roster, featuring nine promotions, including Chase O’Connell who, moves from Soloist to Principal.
From Fredericksburg, VA, O’Connell joined Ballet West II in 2012, and has steadily risen through the ranks each year. “In his short time with Ballet West, Chase has distinguished himself in every assignment he has been given,” said Sklute. “He is a dynamic dancer, the consummate prince, and a caring partner to all his ballerinas.”
Katlyn Addison, Katie Critchlow, Jenna Rae Herrera, Tyler Gum, and Alexander MacFarlan have all been promoted to the rank of Soloist.
Trevor Naumann, Joshua Whitehead, and Jordan Veit move to the Demi-Soloist position.
Joining Ballet West as a full time Corps Artist is former supplemental dancer Amber Miller. Seven new dancers join Ballet West II: Emily Neale and David Huffmire from the Ballet West Academy Professional Training Division, as well as Stephanie Buesser, Levi Durie, Jake Preece, and Alexandra Terry, all of whom auditioned for Sklute during a nationwide tour.
“I’m proud to be promoting these wonderful dancers, they have worked hard and have grown into beautiful artists of the highest caliber.” Sklute adds, “I am also thrilled to bring in such a wealth of young talent from our own Ballet West Academy and from around the United States.”
