Ballet West Recognizes New Board Member

Ballet West recently appointed Cole Adams, CEO and owner of Fat Fish Media, to the Board of Directors on Jan. 24, 2023.

Adams’ background includes 18 years as a professor with the University of Utah School of Dance and as the Production Director and Lighting Designer for the Marriott Center for Dance. Adams states that many of Ballet West’s current and former dancers and staff are former students or colleagues.

He is also known for raising millions of dollars during his time at the University of Utah to maintain and keep state-of-the-art production equipment in the Hayes-Christensen Theater, which is named after the founder of Ballet West, Willam Christensen.

Adams brings entrepreneurial experience to the board as the owner of Clear Lamp LLC, a production company providing audio, video, lighting and staging services throughout the country, owner of Fat Fish Media, focusing on large-scale clients nationwide, and a recent acquisition of Poll Sound, the longest-running sound company in the world.

He is also a member of the Board of Directors for Equality Utah and produces the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year, Allies Gala.

“Cole is a perfect fit for the Ballet West Board of Directors, given his background and skills,” said Ballet West Executive Director Michael Scolamiero. “His appointment to the Board is yet another example of how Ballet West is attracting broader representation among younger constituencies, both on the Board and among our audiences. I’m excited about the opportunity to work with him.”
