Ballet West premieres new sets with their production of Sleeping Beauty | ABC4

1890 is when [The Sleeping Beauty] first came out and Tchaikovsky wrote the music for it . . . When the Disney movie was made, they actually used the Tchaikovsky score for their music, so all these hummable tunes, if you know the Disney music, come from this score and you’ll recognize it. –Adam Sklute
 

Ballet West Artistic Director Adam Sklute sat down with ABC4’s Daily Dish to talk about The Sleeping Beauty. In particular, Sklute discussed the new sets — the first in 40 years! — that are debuting opening night tonight, as well as the very recognizable music of this beautiful piece.
