Ballet West Hires Sarah West as Director of Major Giving and Corporate Partnerships
SALT LAKE CITY – November 14, 2014 – Ballet West is thrilled to announce the hiring of Sarah West as the Director of Major Giving and Corporate Partnerships. Sarah has served on the Board of Trustees for Ballet West for the past eight years and has helped oversee the expansion of the legendary ballet company. In her new role she will examine strategies and synergies to maximize revenue as well as build community awareness.
“We’re delighted for Sarah to join the Ballet West team,” said Scott Altman, Executive Director. “Sarah’s outstanding ties to the community and her long history with Ballet West make this a natural and exemplary fit. Her passion for the Company is infectious; Sarah is the perfect person to be engaging our donors and sponsors.”
Sarah comes to Ballet West from the Park City Institute where she was Managing Director. Previous to that role she was the Director of Community Development at the Sundance Institute. Throughout her career she has focused on strategic marketing, partnership development, community development, strategic planning, and fundraising for nationally renowned organizations such as the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, Olympic Aid, and Westminster College.
Sarah is the granddaughter of Ballet West’s founder, Willam Christensen. She has been passionate about ballet since her childhood when she would watch Mr. Christensen direct and choreograph the emerging Company.
Sarah will report directly to Tom Michel, Director of Advancement and External Affairs who said, “It would be impossible to find another individual whose deep connection to the organization is only rivaled by the breadth of skills she offers Ballet West. We know Sarah’s enthusiasm and insight will help Ballet West’s continued expansion.”
Sarah lives with her husband Rich West and two sons in Park City.
