BALLET WEST CANCELS CHOREOGRAPHIC FESTIVAL
Dear Ballet West Family,
Given the current environment and directives by government officials, it is with regret that we announce that Ballet West’s Choreographic Festival is canceled. Additionally, the Frederick Quinney Lawson Ballet West Academy will continue to be closed, with the goal of resuming classes on May 4 and moving Spring Performances to late May or early June. The Academy will provide a mix of free live-streamed private sessions and adult ballet classes while we work on building a Ballet West Virtual Academy to host modules and curricula for all ages.
Our dancers and staff look forward to inviting the Ballet West family back to our stage for Nicolo Fonte’s Bolero and Sir Frederick Ashton’s The Dream, June 12-20. In the meantime, we hope you will follow our social media channels and website, where you can keep up with dancers teaching class, giving yoga instruction, and even baking a cake! Please join us online and stay connected to Ballet West.
It is ironic, as we become accustomed to physical distancing, that this virus has brought us closer together in other ways. Our company deeply cherishes the outpouring of support you have shown us.
As a valued member of our family, you can appreciate the impact of cancellations on Ballet West’s financial health. We hope you will play a role in helping us to weather the storm.
Please consider donating back the value of your Choreographic Festival ticket(s) as a charitable contribution to Ballet West, to help us maintain the health of the company during these challenging times. We will gladly send you a tax receipt for your donation. You can do that HERE.
Alternatively, you may opt for a voucher in the amount of the value of your ticket(s), to be used for the Bolero & The Dream program in June or for any subscription program during our 20/21 season. You can do that HERE. Of course, we can also refund your purchase in full for any of our canceled performances, you may do this by calling our Patron Services at 801-869-6920.
If you are inclined to support Ballet West further, please consider renewing your subscription for next season, renewing your annual donation, or perhaps even making a one-time gift to help us during this unprecedented health emergency.
For nearly 60 years, Ballet West has staged work that excites, educates, and delights. All of us look forward to seeing you again in June, when we can again present the boundless talents of our artists and the beauty of our art form.
