Michele Gifford

Michele Gifford

Michele was a long-time dancer with the New York City Ballet and a dancer with Texas Ballet Theater. She is a stager and repetiteur for the George Balanchine Trust and for choreographer Christopher Wheeldon.
 
Michele has taught regularly at the Ballet West Academy Summer Intensive and staged numerous Balanchine works for the Academy. Last season, she staged Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco for the main company and acted as a part-time Rehearsal Director for Sleeping Beauty while also performing the role of the queen in that ballet.
 
Michele will act as Assistant Rehearsal Director for both Ballet West and Ballet West II and will continue to stage Balanchine and Wheeldon ballets for the main company, BWII, the Academy, and around the world as her schedule permits.
