Will there be summer classes offered?
Yes! We will over a full Summer Workshop schedule. Registration will be available March 1, 2016.
What changes will be made to the classes offered?
We will be augmenting the classes to offer more ballet training, but the other dance training will not be changed. The levels of the classes will be changed to match the pedagogical levels of the Ballet West Academy. Students will be evaluated throughout the spring for placement in Fall of 2016.
What will happen to my current teacher?
The current faculty of Park City Dance Academy of Performing Arts will be evaluated and fit into the curriculum. Trish and Sandy will continue to be fixtures in the leadership team.
Will The Nutcracker happen in 2016?
Yes! We’ll continue to perform a ballet during the winter. We are always looking at ways to increase performance opportunities for all Ballet West Academy students.
Park City Dance has been a great experience for my two daughters. Dance, like any sport builds physical and mental strength, agility, and teamwork, but it has something more: art. The teachers at Park City Dance help the dancers tap into their personalities and nurture positive self expression.
The environment has encouraged Allie and Sophia, not only to strive to be the best they can be in dance, but also has taught them poise, kindness and what it means to be part of a team. The relationships they have made, will be with them forever. The school has truly become their home away from home. I believe that the skills and diligence they have learned through the discipline of dance, has helped them academically as well. They do not view their goals as insurmountable. They realize with patience, discipline and hard work their success will be rewarded.
I know that Ballet West will provide even more opportunities for the girls. I am so happy that they recognized what an amazing business that you and Sandy have built, and that they recognize what assets you will both bring to the organization.
Dancing at Park City Dance has had such a strong influence on my life–both academically and professionally. I can honestly say that I don’t know where I would be without the experience I had there. Throughout my time at PCD I learned invaluable lessons. I came to understand the importance of hard work, patience, and persistence. These characteristics played an enormous role in helping me excel during college and law school, and will continue to benefit me throughout my career. I also left Park City Dance with lifelong friends and relationships I will cherish forever. Dancing at PCD undoubtedly made me who I am today, and I would not change that for the world.
Park City Dance has been a wonderful addition to our lives for the last 6 years. They have not only provided my children with excellent dance instruction but the directors of this studio have fostered an atmosphere of love, compassion, respect, discipline, and fun encompassing the dancers, parents, and teachers alike.
